(RD22) RD22 - Yin gets a telemetry upgrade

Published: Sat Apr 14 2012

My new FrSky Telemetry gear came in, so this will enable me to directly monitor the lipo voltage of my models on my radio. My first victim was RD22, which has the FrSky D8RII 8 channel 2-way RX. First I installed the FLD-02 LCD display($23.10 at hobby King) on the radio

Next I modified and installed the Voltage sensor ($3.26 from Hobby King). The Voltage is optimized for 3s-5s from the factory, to optimize it for 1s or 2s, you simply desolder the red wire from the board and solder it to the 1s or 2s pad. we soldered to the 2s pad and installed it by connecting the voltage sensor to port A1 on the D8RII.

I then configured the voltage alarm for 2s. works great, cost peanuts ;-)
